Let me start off by telling you a bit about myself. I’m a Diva alumnus who graduated from the University at Albany’s Business School. My work experience includes positions at Judith Ripka, The New York Post ‘Page Six Magazine’ and Sony Music, but I’m really a serial entrepreneur at heart. (In fact, I recently invented a patent-pending lip balm called Kissamint TM. More on that in future columns, I promise!)
Last, but not least: I’m a writer. This year, I wrote a book about guys and dating–inspired by conversations with my girlfriends. We would email each other with details about the previous night’s dating experience, and it hit me: “I wish someone would have told me this is what it’s like…”
So, I rounded up all the emails featuring those metaphorical dating stories comparing guys to everything from samples sales to New York city taxi rides, casinos to precious gems and, voila – the book, They Say Guys Are Like… was born!
We’re currently in the process of publishing the book, that doesn’t mean you can’t get in on the action — and maybe even get published along with me. Follow me on Twitter and let me know what YOU think Guys Are Like… Maybe your metaphor will end up in the book! (And, if you and your friends help me get to 10,000 followers on Twitter, I promise that there will be some major celebrations to follow.)
In the meantime, my column @GuysAreLike… here at The Campus Diva is intended to be a light read about dating, relationships and girl-talk. It comes to you not by an expert by any stretch. Actually, I’d prefer it if you thought of me as a older sister-type (but not that much older…I haven’t turned the big 3-0 yet), or as a friend, someone who will take the time to answer your questions and knows what it’s like… And, stay tuned, in between my weekly columns on The Campus Diva for gift giveaways from fashion and jewelry to the latest chick flicks, and more.
So, whether you’re single, in a relationship, in a complicated situation or breaking up, I can relate to you. I can say, “been there, done that” and tell you what has worked for me and what hasn’t. I’ll share with you what I wish I knew then and what I’m still trying to figure out.
